MULTAN: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf national organiser Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government of using state machinery to ensure win of a party candidate in NA-153 (Jalalpur Pirwala) by-elections.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said that the PTI was contesting the by-polls for victory of party ideology. It did not matter whether the PTI won or lost the by-polls but the party would expose opportunists, he added. He alleged that the PML-N and the PPP were responsible for backwardness of Jalalpur Pirwala. Qureshi said that PTI chairman Imran Khan along with noted singer Attaullah Esa Khailvi would arrive at Jalalpur Pirwala tomorrow to address an election meeting.
Giving details of Imran Khan tour to NA-153, Qureshi said that the PTI workers would warmly welcome the party chief at 14 different points from Multan to Jalalpur Pirwala. The first reception camp had been set up at Bomen Jee Chowk in cantonment area, he added. He said that party candidate Waheed Khan would host lunch for Imran Khan at his residence. After the lunch, Imran would go to Jalalpur Pirwala, Qureshi added. He said that the second reception camp had been set up at Chowk Double Phatak where Rehmani clan would receive Imran Khan warmly. The Rehmani clan had recently joined the PTI after quitting the PPP, he added.
The third reception camp had been set up in the centre of union councils 38 and 39. PTI ex-ticket holder Rana Jabbar would receive Imran Khan at the fourth reception camp set up at Chungi No-21 while the sixth reception camp had been set up near Nishat school. The other reception camps had been set up at Nag Shah Chowk, near Labar Morr, Hamidpur Kanora, Adhi Bagh, Sikandarabad, Pull Guchar, Chak Haris, Thana Chowk Shujabad and Bangla Morr.
