600 prisoners getting education in 15 centres
GUJRANWALA: Central Jail Superintendent Kamran Anjum Thursday said fifteen centres had been established in the jail where some 600 prisoners are getting education.
Talking to reporters, Kamran said 15 teachers amongst the well-educated prisoners are teaching in the centres and each such teacher will be paid Rs 5,000 per month by the government.
He said five technical centres were also being constructed in the jail by Tevta where male and female prisoners would be imparted training in different disciplines, saying that necessary machinery has been purchased and classes would start from April 1st, 2016, after the completion of the construction.
YOUTH ELECTROCUTED: A youth was electrocuted working at a workshop in Samanabad on Thursday.
Reportedly, Ahmed, 22, was working in the workshop when mistakenly he touched the electric wire and received a fatal electric shock. He was rushed to hospital where he died.
