Woman among four held with narcotics at airport

MULTAN: The Anti-Narcotics Force arrested four passengers at the airport and foiled a bid to smuggle heroin from Multan to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
On a tip-off, the ANF officials offloaded four passengers, including Robina of Okara and Muhammad Ramzan of Chichawatni, from a flight. The officials recovered 200 gram heroin from accused Robina and shifted the three other accused, including Ramzan, to a hospital after capsules were spotted in their stomach during screening process.
The ANF officials said that they would submit details after 2-3 days on completion of medical checkup of the arrested passengers.
ISHAQ DAR DUE TODAY: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will address the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) here today.
He will also inaugurate a modern plant of a beverage company set up by Turkish investors in Multan.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Oil and Natural Resources Khaqan Abbasi will open an LNG plant in a local industry. He will also address the MCCI executive committee.
BZU CONVOCATION: The Bahauddin Zakariya University convocation will be held on March 12 and all arrangements in this regard have been finalised, said BZU official Dr Ghulam Shabbir. He said that Governor Malik Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana would chair the convocation.
