CHARSADDA: Four persons, including a policeman, were killed and another sustained injuries during a jirga in Sardaryab area in the limits of Prang Police Station on Saturday, official sources said.
There was a jirga in Sardaryab between two groups over a family issue when the
rivals exchanged harsh words and opened fire on each
other.
A policeman Farhad Ali, Nasimullah, Afsar Khan, Yousaf Khan and Jehanzeb were wounded in the incident.
They were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Charsadda where the cop Farhad Ali, Nasimullah, Afsar Khan and Yousaf Khan succumbed to their injuries while Jehanzeb was taken to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.
The police claimed to have arrested one of the accused while a first information report (FIR) was not registered till the filing of this report.
