Lawyers to boycott courts
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council on Monday condemned the terrorist attack on sessions court in Shabqadar tehsil of the Charsadda district and announced complete boycott of courts in the province today.
In a statement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council vice-president Muhammad Tariq Afridi condemned the terrorist attack on the court in which about 16 people were killed and dozens injured. He also announced complete boycott of courts in the province for today (Tuesday).
In order to record the protest against the attack and killing of innocent citizens, he asked all the lawyers to stay away from the courts. He also called upon the lawyer associations across the province to hold condolence reference and offer fateha for those killed in the suicide blast. “I have written letters to DIGs of the province to provide foolproof security to all the districts and tehsils courts,” the vice-chairman said. He urged the provincial government to provide security to the lawyers, courts and citizens of the province.
