Woman attempts self-immolation in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: A 26-year-old woman attempted self-immolation over a domestic dispute at Bohar Gate on Sunday.

Alishba allegedly quarreled with her husband Nadeem Nawaz over a domestic dispute. Later, Alishba attempted self-immolation. As a result, she received burns. The injured woman was shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital. According to BVH Emergency Ward Director Dr Amir Mehmood Bukhari, the victim had received burns on her 22 per cent body. Police have not been not informed about the incident by the victim’s family as well as by the hospital authorities till the filing of the report.

FOLK SINGER DIES: Noted Seraiki folk singer Naseer Mastana Rajput died of heart attack at Ahmadpur East on Saturday night.

Naseer Mastana was the elder brother of Jamil Parwana, who is also a folk singer. Naseer Mastana was recently elected as a UC general councillor from Ahmadpur East. He has left behind a widow, three daughters and two sons. His Namaz-e-Janaza was offered at the shrine of Hazrat Azmat Sultan on Sunday. A large number of people attended his funeral prayer. Later, he was buried in a graveyard
