Medical students demand registration with PMDC

BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of students of Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahimyar Khan protested against Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and demanded immediate registration of the college.

The students, including girls, staged a demonstration outside the OPD of Sheikh Zayed Medical Complex and chanted slogans against the PMDC and demanded immediate registration of 260 college students with the PMDC. The protesting students also demanded approval of 150 seats for Sheikh Zayed Medical College Rahimyar Khan immediately. Later, YDA Rahimyar Khan chapter also joined the protest to express their support for the students.

6 OVERLOADED VEHICLES IMPOUNDED: Police have impounded six overloaded vehicles and imposed fine on nearly 100 tractor-trollies during the last two days in the Bahawalpur police range.

The action was taken during a crackdown on overloaded sugarcane tractor-trollies in the Bahawalpur police range. Bahawalpur region traffic police SSP Gauhar Mushtaq Bhutta while talking to The News said that the operation was not against anyone as it was launched for implementation of traffic rules to save general public from accidents.
