Qureshi urges Shahbaz not to be angry at NAB
MULTAN: PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi Saturday said the NAB is a constitutional institution and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should not raise a hue and cry if arrests are made in the province by it.
Talking to reporters, Qureshi said the NAB has every right to take action if it sees anything wrong and there should be no expression of anger if it takes action against anybody in Punjab.
He said if the CM has not committed any corruption then a hue and cry being raised by him is uncalled for. Qureshi said the PTI will fully back NAB on its action against corruption in a transparent way.
Talking about former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal's press conference, he demanded the government take action on the accusations and constitute a judicial commission to probe the allegations, saying that accusations of Mustafa were of paramount significance and they should not be overlooked.
Lauding the role of the Pakistan Army in combating terrorism, he said it was remarkable, however, the government was not serious in fulfilling its commitments. Qureshi said US Presidential candidate Donald Trump was releasing sweeping statements on Pakistani nuclear assets and the Pakistan Foreign Office must react to them.
