Dr Seemin Jamali gets Angel Award

The joint executive director of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Dr Seemin Jamali, was awarded Angel Award 20016 at the Ladiesfund Women’s Award ceremony by Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad-Khan on Saturday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the governor said Pakistani women had proved they were not behind men in any field of life and they played an important role in progress and development of the society.

During the ceremony, women from different walks of life were conferred awards for their achievements and success in their relevant fields and areas of specialisation and it was attended by the elite and foreign diplomats based in the city.

The governor maintained that without the participation of women in every walk of life, the dream of achieving economic stability could not be realised and went on to claim that efforts were undertaken to make them equal contributors in social progress.

Felicitating the organisers and the Dawood Foundation for conferring on her the Angel Award 2016, Dr Seemin Jamali said she was among many other women doctors, paramedics and nurses who strived hard to provide best available healthcare facilities to people and vowed to continue her struggle till her last breath.

Chairperson Ladiesfund Atia Dawood also spoke and said the organisation provided financial and technical assistance to the needy and deserving women so they could run their own businesses and become financially independent.
