Steps underway to give new look to city: DCO

HAFIZABAD: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Ahmad Rajwana Friday said steps were underway to give a new look to the city and resolve issues of the people.
Addressing the Meet the Press event at press club after his appointment, Rajwana declared provision of best services to the people, better healthcare and quality education to them his priorities.
The DCO said with the consultation of lawmakers, he has advised heads of all departments to improve service delivery as all institutions are meant to serve the masses.
Talking about encroachments in the city, he said old Sabzi Mandi on the Alipur Road is being converted into a Model Bazaar and encroachments would be removed in a phased plan.
To a question on the delay of making the Trauma Centre functional, he said he has already started efforts to make the centre functional within a month and fix responsibility for non-installation of equipment in the centre.
The DCO said the DHQ hospital and its departments would be made a model, saying that all filtration plants and tube wells would be made functional and be monitored by special committees.
He said roads would be repaired in the city soon. He vowed brining a visible change in the city in a month. The DCO said he would welcome the media’s positive criticism.
