20 policemen punished

DIG Operations Lahore awarded punishments to 20 officers and officials on the charges of corruption, fake registration of cases, dereliction of duty, power abuse, poor investigation, wrong entries in daily diary and on other charges.
He dismissed former SHO New Anarkali SI Naiyar Nisar and two constables Mohammad Aslam and Qasim Ali for releasing drug pushers after receiving bribe from them. Similarly, head constable Nisar Ahmad, two constables Amjad and Ghulam Shabbir and a driver Mohammad Ibrar were dismissed from service for showing negligence while performing duty.
Former muharrar Hunjarwal Mohammad Asif was dismissed from service for preparing a bogus FIR.
Those officers and officials, who had been awarded other punishments, including forfeiture of service, censure, stoppage of increment and demotion, were former SHO Kot Lakhpat Mohammad Suhail Shahzad, former SHO Faisal Town Waseem Akhtar, SI Tahir Tauqeer, former SHO Lower Mall Mohammad Mumtaz Hussain, T/ASI Ghulam Shabbir, SHO Sattukatla Javed Sadique, SHO Qila Gujar Singh Mohammad Naeem Anwar, inspector Suhail Bashir, SI Mohammad Muslim, SI Mohammad Arshad, SI Amanat, and head constable Muzammil Hussain.
cases registered: City Traffic Police got registered 4,625 cases against encroachments and wrong parking during the ongoing crackdown against such violators in the provincial metropolis.
