New service plies 15 buses

LAHORE

Lahore Transport Company has started B-5 route with the collaboration of a Korean bus service in Lahore.

The bus route will start from Railway Station via Haji Camp, Chairing Cross, Mozang Chungi, Services Hospital, Zafar Ali Road, Liberty Roundabout, Centre Point, Cavalry Ground, RA Bazaar, Masjid Chowk, Defence Road Chowk, Wateen Chowk, DHA Complex, etc to GBS terminal on Bedian Road.

Initially 15 buses are being plied and soon there will be increase in the fleet by considering the travellers demand.

LTC has expanded its robust public transportation network across the city along with adjacent routes where commuters are being facilitated in air conditioned and comfortable buses, particularly free transport facilities to the senior and disabled persons and concessional fares to the students.

The company since its inception has made operational many non-operational routes by building the confidence of private transport operators.

This was stated by Lahore Transport Company Chairman Mehr Ishtiaq while inaugurating new bus service at Defence Terminal, Bedian Road, Lahore.

On this occasion, Korean City Bus President Mr C.I.Park, CEO LTC Khawaja Haider Latif, GM Operations Ahsan Fayyaz, CFO Mariam Khawar, Chief Technical Officer Badi-ur-Rehamn, DGM Ajab Gull and Deputy Head of Communication Nasir Hussain were also present. 

CEO LTC Khawaja Haider Latif said that the success of this new bus service depended on the maintaining of headway and hopefully thousands of commuters would get benefit from this service.

Human trafficker: FIA Lahore on Thursday claimed to have arrested an alleged human smuggler wanted in eight cases.

According to FIA officials, the accused was identified as Mazhar Sharif. 

Transfers: The Punjab government has issued a notification regarding the transfers and postings of following officers on Thursday.

Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Capt. (Retd) Zahid Saeed has been promoted to BS-22 and upon his promotion the post of SMBR has also been upgraded in BS-22 till his posting on this post. Moreover, Secretary Environment Protection Mohammed Iqbal Chohan has been given an additional charge of the office of Secretary Special Education till further order.

Meanwhile, Additional Commissioner General Attock Kinza Murtaza has been transferred and posted as EDO (F&P) Attock, Capt. (Retd) Ikram-ul-Haq, an officer of Punjab Revenue Authority, as Additional Collector General Attock, Mohammed Ahsan Waheed, currently posted at the CM Secretariat, has also been transferred and posted as Secretary to CM for Public Affairs. The provincial government has extended the contract of Chairman Punjab Cooperatives for Liquidation for one year.
