Woman hockey coach found injured

BAHAWALPUR: Punjab Sports Board women hockey coach Hina Khalid was found unconscious with silted neck near Milad Chowk on Tuesday night.
A passer-by saw her in unconscious condition and shifted her to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) in a critical condition. Later, on the complaint of the injured woman coach, Civil Lines police registered an FIR against Shahzad Makki alias Rehan, reportedly a friend of the victim. According to the Civil Lines police SHO, different teams had been formed for the arrest of the accused. Sources said that accused Shahzad was a friend of woman hockey coach and he had proposed her for marriage but the family of the woman refused to accept the proposal. Father of the woman coach Muhammad Khalid and brother Shakeel Khalid while talking to The News alleged that after they refused the proposal, accused Shahzad became enemy of Hina. They claimed that they had informed the police about all threats but no action was taken. They demanded Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif and other authorities take notice of the incident and provide them justice.
