Dengue prevention drive

MULTAN: The city district administration has extended dengue prevention campaign to sensitive union councils and started door-to-door surveillance, said Additional District Collector Manzar Ali Javed.

Addressing a meeting here on Monday, he said that surveillance was started in those areas where dengue cases were reported during the last summer season. He said that fumigation had been ordered at the union council level. On the directions of DCO Zahid Salim Gondal, a third party audit of dengue prevention campaign had been ensured and three monitoring officials had been appointed in this regard, he added. He said that the monitoring officials are Sub-Registrar Malik Shafiq, Agha Zaheer Abbas Sherazi and DO Community Chaudhry Mohiuddin. The officials would pay surprise visits to the union councils to check staff attendance, etc.

CRACKDOWN: The city district administration has ordered a crackdown on illegal refilling of LPG.

Addressing a meeting here on Monday, DCO Zahid Salim Gondal also ordered the officials concerned to seal those petrol pumps which were installing CNG plants illegally.
