‘Uplift work to be completed on time’

PML-N MNA Sardar Mansab Ali Dogar Monday said development work would be completed in the district on time.
Addressing a meeting at the DCO office, the MNA said the Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz government is using huge funds on uplift projects in the district to provide facilities to the common man.
All heads of different departments were present.
He called for honesty in the completion of the projects, saying that strict action would be taken against suppliers of sub-standard and low-class material for the projects.
DRUG PEDDLERS HELD: Police Monday claimed arresting drug peddlers and illegal weapon holders.
Police arrested accused Ramazan of Chak 79/D with 3 litres wine, Fayyaz of Chak Pull Karmawala with two litres wine, accused Awais of Chak No 153/EB with a pistol, accused Ashtiaq of Tarukhni area with a pistol, accused Arshad Ahmad of Hussanpura with a 30-bore.
Police arrested accused Javeed of Pir Sultan, Pakpattan, with a pistol, Muhammad Amjid of Chak 87/EB with a pistol, and accused Khan Muhammad of Chak Bara Arjanka with a rifle.
Police have registered cases.
FLOOD PREPARATIONS: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Javed Akhter Mahmood Monday asked all relevant departments to make preparations to handle feared flood in the River Sutluj and rainy season situation.
Addressing a meeting of the heads of Rescue-1122, TMAs, revenue, livestock and others departments, the district coordination officer stressed the need of keeping sewerage system functional, giving vaccinations to animals and arranging temporary residences for flood-hit people.
He also instructed irrigation department to consolidate banks of canals and submit a report to his office.
PO ESCAPES: A proclaimed offender (PO) Monday escaped with the abetment of his facilitator.
Police raided Marally Chowk to arrest alleged PO Aslam Malkana, the PO was alerted by his abettor Javed before the police arrived and fled the scene.
The police registered a case against Javed.
TAX COLLECTION: ADC Arif Umar Aziz Monday asked all officers to complete target of tax collection honestly.
Addressing a meeting, the ADC instructed the officers to avoid delay in collecting taxes. He said strict action would be taken against tax dodgers.
