PHF finalises junior championship preparation
KARACHI: The PHF has finalised the preparation for the 35th National Junior Championship, including the list of the officials.
The PHF has appointed Col Sikandar Ghumman of Lahore as tournament director and international hockey player Qasim Khan of Police as organising secretary.
The qualifying round of the national championship will complete in Peshawar on Monday (today). The final round will be held in Lahore from March 2.
The PHF has promised that a handsome amount of prize money would be given in the championship.
PHF president Brig Khalid Khokhar, when contacted, confirmed that a handsome amount would be awarded in the junior championship and the distribution would be the same as was in the senior championship held in Karachi a few months back.
The PHF president also confirmed that prize money would also be given in the national women junior championship, starting in Lahore form March 1.
Olympian Naveed Alam will be PHF coordinator. Asif Sohail will be the media coordinator. The ATD will be Shafique Bhatti from Lahore and Anjum Rasheed from Sialkot. Umpire Manager will be Rashad Mehmood Butt of Railways.
