Documentary on girls’ education

Islamabad: Children’s Glo-bal Network Pakistan (CGN-P) is going to launch documentary titled ‘Taleem Hamara Mustaqbil’ and Report ‘Bleak to Brightness’ focusing on adolescent girls education under its programme ‘Building Skills for Life (BS4L)’ on Monday (February 29), says a press release.

The event is organised at W.M. Zaki Auditorium, Academic Complex, Allama Iqbal Open University, Sector H-8 Islamabad.

The documentar-0y por-trays the challenges of education in Pakistan and the impact of the programme in the target areas whereas the report ‘Bleak to Brightness’ has captured the achievements and impact of BS4L programme through peoples’ perceptive. The 165 change stories were collected from local opinion leaders, fathers, mothers and learners describing change in attitude and behaviour regarding girls’ education and the change in general perceptions about value of girls and women through a systematic and exhaustive process.

Building Skills for Life is a non-formal education program of Children’s Global Network Pakistan, which is aimed at promoting gender equality and empowers youth through access to post primary and life skills based education. The programme is being implemented, in collaboration with Plan International Pakistan in Kot Addu district Muzaffargarh. Under the programme more than 1,200 adolescent girls (age group 13-19 years) were able to do matriculation through accelerated learning. Vocational training Centres were also opened to empower 200 girls economically.
