Dacoits continue looting spree

GUJRANWALA: Dacoits took away cash, cell phones and other valuables in 21 incidents here on Friday.
Dacoits snatched Rs 13,000 and a cell phone from Arshad at Alipur Chatha while dacoits looted Rs 21,000 and two cell phones from Mustafeez at Kamoke. Two armed men took away Rs 23,000 and two cell phones from a man at Gakhar while Majid Ali was deprived of Rs 20,000 and two cell phones in the same area. Robbers looted Rs 6,000 and two cell phones from Philips Masih at Cantt while armed men took away motorcycle from Abdul Basit at Sadar Wazirabad. Bandits snatched Rs 9,000 and a cell phone from Abdul Karim at Sohdra while dacoits snatched Rs 16,000 and a cell phone from Waheed at Qila Didar Singh. Thieves took away cash and valuables from the house of Abdul Rehman at Gondlanwala while thieves looted valuables from the house of Abdul Wahab Wazirabad. Thieves took away cash and other valuables from the shop of Umer at Baghbanpura while thieves stole valuables from the shop of Abid at Alam Chowk. Thieves stole motorcycles of Moeez, Ashfaq, Hafiz, Abdul Basit, Shafaqat, Babar, Maqsood, Fawad and Talha from different parts of the city.
26 INMATES RELEASED: District and Sessions Judge Habibullah Amir on Friday ordered release of 26 prisoners from the Central Jail who were involved in petty crimes.
The judge visited the jail and inspected various parts of the jail, including barracks and kitchen, and issued necessary orders on the spot. Superintendent Jail Kamran Anjum was also present. Meanwhile, the Hafizabad sessions judge also visited the Central Jail Gujranwala and ordered release of eight prisoners involved in petty crimes.
MAN KILLED, 2 HURT IN ACCIDENT: A man was killed while two others sustained injuries in an accident near Garden Town on Friday.
