Three kite sellers booked

CHAKWAL: Police Thursday registered three separate cases against kite sellers.
Police raided a locality and accused Umar Farooq escaped to see the police leaving 45 kites and spools of twine behind.
ASI Mohammad Shafique of Kallar Kahar police recovered 45 kites and 25 spools of twine from the shop of accused Zaffar Karim of Bhoun village. The Kallar Kahar police in another operation found 52 kites and 29 spools of twine from the shop of Munir Mehdi of Bhoun village.
Police have registered three separate cases against the accused.
LAND RETRIEVED: Some 70 kanal state land was retrieved from encroachers in four different operations at Three Marla Scheme, Mohallah Dhok Feroz, Janwal Town and Stadium Road on Thursday.
AC Chakwal Musawar Khan Naizi and TMO officials bulldozed constructions raised on state land.
The AC told reporters that houses of the poor who purchased the state land from encroachers would not be bulldozed.
He said criminal cases would be registered against the encroachers.
He said more than 100 influential people sold the state land and their names have been forwarded to DCO Chakwal Mehmood Jawaid Bhatti and then this list would be forwarded to DPO Chakwal for the registration of cases.
The AC vowed retrieving more than 1,000 kanals state land from encroachers within 30 days in indiscriminate operation.
