This refers to the editorial, ‘Elusive peace’ (February 22). Seeing what is going on in the Middle East, we are lucky to be living in a relatively peaceful region. Lucky also to be more independent.
But we cannot afford to be complacent. Threats to our security are more ominous now because the Islamic State and its affiliates have started to creep into our country. It means that the creators and sponsors of terrorist groups like the IS are trying to turn Pakistan into Iraq, Libya or Syria. We ought to be more alert.
