Six-month-old baby girl burnt alive in cylinder blast

JHANG: A six-month-old baby girl was burnt alive in a gas cylinder blast at Khewa on Jhang-Chiniot Road on Tuesday.
The wife of Muhammad Siddique was preparing tea when suddenly a gas cylinder placed in a room exploded due to leakage of gas. As a result, the room caught fire and Ayesha, who was sleeping in the room, burnt alive while the wife of Siddique also received burns and rushed to a hospital.
1,241 DISABLED GET KHIDMAT CARDS: DCO Nadir Chattha has said that 1,241 disabled have been provided the Khidmat Cards during the first phase of the programme.
Addressing a meeting here on Tuesday, the DCO said that Service Cards would be provided to 6,892 registered disabled in the second phase in the district. He said that government jobs had been provided to 48 disabled in Education Department, 16 in TMA and Roads Department, six in Agriculture Department, six in Highway Department, four in DCO Office, four in Forest Department, one in District Council, one in Health Department, four in DD Colleges Office, one in Livestock Department and five in Community Origination Department. He told that 128 daily wages jobs were also provided to disabled in private sector. He said that 177 deserving people were getting monthly financial assistance in the district.
