Bugti murder: Musharraf issued notice plea against his acquittal
QUETTA: Balochistan High Court (BHC) has admitted for hearing a petition, filed against a decision of an anti-terrorism court (ATC) acquitting Pervez Musharraf and others including Aftab Sherpao and Mir Shoaib Nosherwani in Akbar Bugi murder case, and also issued notices to the acquitted persons.
A constitutional petition, filed by Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti against the ATC decision, came up for preliminary hearing before the BHC on Tuesday.The counsel for the petitioner stated that acquittal in Nawab Bugti murder case was not in accordance with the law. Therefore, the court should set aside the verdict, he prayed.
The court also summoned record from the subordinate court. The ATC Quetta heard Akbar Bugti murder case for six years and acquitted Pervez Musharraf, the then interior minister Aftab Ahmad Sherpao and the then home minister Balochistan Mir Shoaib Nosherwani in this case on January 18.
