LAHORE
The 24th annual edition of The Scientific Ravi, a science research magazine of Government College University (GCU), was unveiled at university on Tuesday.
GCU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah unveiled the magazine in presence of its editorial team, faculty members and students.
Addressing the ceremony, Editor Maham Naz said new edition comprised of 98 articles by university science students, few foreign authors, faculty members and Old Ravians.
She said university's each department had with dedication given articles. This current edition also features new sections such as “How Stuff Works”, “Science Jokes” and “Science versus Myth” which are both entertaining and informative for the readers.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Shah lauded the efforts of magazine's editor and associate editors saying the research magazine had been named after the River Ravi as the flowing river was referred as a symbolic continuity of thoughts and innovative ideas of Government College University students, alumni and faculty members which were expressed through magazine. He said publication was also very close to his heart as he had also remained adviser, The Scientific Ravi, during his tenure as Professor of Physics at Government College University.
