DPO vows launching whole night patrolling system

CHAKWAL: District Police Officer (DPO) Munir Masood Marth Monday said the whole night strong patrolling system will be introduced.

Talking to the Chakwal press club and Chakwal electronic media association office-bearers, the DPO said traditional police check points would be disbanded and the police will be armed with latest equipment and arms to combat terrorism.

This was the first introductory meeting of the DPO with reporters.

Chakwal press club chairman Khawaja Babar Saleem introduced the office-bearers to the DPO.

Answering a question, the DPO said some 461 trained police constables will become part of the district police.

The DPO said the National Action Plan is being implemented in its true spirits.

He urged the media and the people to support the police to maintain a terror-free atmosphere in the district.

 

MAN ACQUITTED: A division bench of the Lahore High Court Monday acquitted a murder accused of Janga village of Sadr police station.

Accused Ibrahim Shah was awarded life imprisonment by the Sessions court in 2010. He filed an appeal before the LHC, which acquitted him.
