SHOs given deadline to end gambling dens

BAHAWALPUR: RPO Dr Ahsan Sadiq has given a 15-day deadline to the SHOs for eliminating drug sale points, brothels and gambling dens from their respective areas.
Addressing an open court at Khanpur on Monday, he also directed them to submit clearance certificates of purging the areas from such menace, otherwise they would be suspended. Rahimyar Khan DPO Zeeshan Asghar, SSP Gohar Mushtaq Bhutta, SP Investigation Irfan, Khanpur AC Abdul Ghaffar and Khanpur DSP Jamshed Ali were also present.
TRADER INJURED: Three dacoits injured a trader after robbing him of cash near Agriculture Department office on Gulberg Road on Sunday night.
Muhammad Rafiq of Rehman Town was on his way when the dacoits intercepted him and snatched cash from him. They also shot at and injured him on resistance. Sadr police have registered a case.
