Valentine’s Day is special for couples who have recently gotten together.

V-Day special

Valentine’s Day is special for couples who have recently gotten together. This is because they get to dine out, express their feelings and exchange gifts. But what about those who are married and have been together for a couple of years? Admit it, going on a dinner date after being together for years just doesn’t have the same spark. After all, you are together all the time at home too, what would be so special about eating out? You probably wouldn’t even have anything to talk about. Yes, going on the same dinner date is boring for married couples and even the Valentine’s decor fails to add romance to the date. Unfortunately, it is because of these cliched dates that many couples refuse to celebrate V-day to begin with.

Fret not guys, this year is going to be different for everyone as You! has come up with some unique Valentine’s Day ideas for married couples. Luckily there are still a few days left and you have enough time to organise something special for 14th February this time round. Here are ten ideas that might strike your fancy:

Bonfire

If you want to have a fun yet romantic time, plan out a bonfire and invite a few friends and couples you know. All you will have to do is order delicious food, keep a heart shaped cake or brownies, and some red cushions to fit into the V-Day theme. The bonfire under the starry sky will do the rest! You can even do a one-dish dinner where everyone brings something so you and your partner don’t have to bear the cost of all the food. The bonfire can be arranged in your garden or your roof. Add some music to the mix and you might just end up doing a couple dance before the night is over.

Crabbing

Book a boat and go crabbing! You will be under the starry sky and above the sparkling sea. Add some romantic music and voila, you have your perfect date! As far as the food is concerned, the individuals you will hire to manage the boat will cook sea food for you and your partner on the boat. Here too, you can include other couples in your plan who are willing to pitch in. However, make sure your partner is not the sort who easily gets sea sick. Trust us, a crabbing trip is a serene experience and will surely make you and your partner connect.

beach

Heading to the beach is amongst the easiest and most relaxing plans one can come up with. All you need to do is book a hut, arrange music, take food of your choice and head out to the beach. You can go in the evening, night or even spend the night there. A beach is multipurpose because you can decorate the hut and have dinner inside, or simply have a picnic near the waves. The scenery is not only beautiful and comforting but is bound to strike feelings of love and romance. You can also include your friends in this plan and can simply go for a walk on the beach if you need some time alone.

Chalet

For a different kind of night out with other couples, book a chalet. There are many chalet options available in numerous cities; while amongst the most popular in Karachi is the golf club chalet. The chalet has a room, dining area and a pool. All you will need is food, music and a swimming costume. You can also decorate the place beforehand. A chalet is much more fun with a group of friends and it becomes a nice hangout spot where you can dance and swim the night away. For a romantic element, add candles and balloons to the decor.

Rent a hall

This plan requires a wider budget and can be done on a large scale. If you can afford a hall on your own, go ahead. But if you can’t, ask others to pitch in. Book a hall at a hotel or club and you can invite about 100 people. It will be like a fancy party where you can sneak some time alone at the dance floor whenever you want. Trust us on one thing, you won’t feel bored even for a second.

Party in the house

This is easy to arrange if you are one of those who invite people over often. Have a small party with a group of 20 people. Add in food and music and you are all set to sway the night away. The most important aspect in this scenario is the decor. Since it will be the same old house you live in, the only way to spice things up is to have a full fledged V-day decor with cardboard red hearts and heart shaped balloons all over the place. Go red!

resort

Now, going to a resort is not a typical V-day plan as people assume it will not be romantic. Well, you got it all wrong as many couples can easily spend a night at Dream world resort and have a fun romantic night. The resort has many facilities like boating, swimming, water slides, bowling, horse rising etc. So basically you can do all that and then go to the room, get dressed and head out to a romantic dinner in the restaurants at the resort. After eating, you can always go for a walk with your partner. It’s super romantic.

bar-b-q

This is a simple plan but will require some work. You can arrange a bbq in your garden or roof top and simply invite a few people to join you. The night will be spent grilling meat, chatting and listening to music. It is a very stress free idea and will be perfect for those who are not into cheesy plans.

Double date

Don’t have the time, money or energy to go ahead with any of the plans discussed above? Well, then simply go for a double date with your best friend and their partner. This way you will be inspired to dress up for the night and your friends will help keep the conversations flowing.

Alone time

No matter how many years of marriage have passed, there are some couples who would prefer to spend some time alone. If that is the case then we suggest that you go out for a hi-tea, followed by a movie and dinner.
