Stunning model and a promising young actor, Hina Ashfaq has an invigorating real-girl approach to beauty that just like any other person went through her share of beauty phases and self-care. After completing her Bachelors from Karachi University, Hina reshifted her focus to modelling. Her hard work and determination got her spot in the top seven contestants of Miss Veet Pakistan 2014, which gave her career a new rise.
Not only as a model but also as an actor, she came out with strong performances in serials like ‘Munkir’, ‘Alif’, ‘Rangdari’, ‘Askhbar’, ‘Masters’ and ‘Paposh Nagar Ki Neelam’. After spending years in showbiz and the lessons learnt from experiences, she now has a firm belief that
keeping it simple is the key. That’s probably why one would find her clad in a simple pair of jeans and tees off-screen, with a hint of lip balm and a little kohl around her eyes and a glossy blowout and that is what the beauty look that she feels like her own.

You! How old were you, when you started doing your makeup?
Hina Ashfaq: During my teens.
You! What is your everyday makeup look?
HA: No makeup look or nude look.
You! When stepping out, do you wear makeup all the time?
HA: No, not at all. It only depends on where I’m going.
You! Do you use sunblock or any serums when you go to shoots?
HA: Oh yes! Sunblock and serums are love. I think prepping your skin in the right way is crucial for good makeup.
You! Any tips for school and university going girls to deal with summers?
HA: Apply sunblock according to your skin type. Stay hydrated and detox.
You! Your most favourite perfume?
HA: There’s a long list of my favourites but a few of them include: Fearless and Bombshell by Victoria’s Secret; Coco Chanel; Michael Kors’ Delicate Rose; Lacoste Touch of pink; Romance by Ralph Lauren; Trussardi Delicate Rose; Beautiful by Estée Lauder; Versace Crystal Noir and Eros.
You! What are your favourite brands in lipsticks?
HA: Maybelline, Medora, ColorPop and Nars.
You! Do you use lighter tones of foundations or warm tones?
HA: I use my own shade. I like it natural and dewy.
You! After coming back from shoots, how do you remove makeup and cleanse your skin?
HA: I remove my makeup with almond oil then cleanse it with a medicated facewash.
You! Hair gets damaged after straightening and blow drying. How do you manage?
HA: I apply heat protecting serum before any hairstyling.
You! And what do you do to keep your hair healthy?
HA: Oiling once weekly, protein treatment once monthly, and not to forget multivitamins.
You! What is your take on natural makeup or zero makeup?
HA: Best! I just love it.
You! Advice for women who can’t buy expensive brands but still want to look good:
HA: Beauty is not about buying expensive products. You should know what suits your personality and makes you feel comfortable. You should be confident with yourself first to look good on the outside.
You! One thing you can’t give up that keeps you healthy and fit?
HA: Positivity.
You! What is one cosmetic you cannot go without?
HA: Lip gloss or lip balm.
You! When it comes to cosmetics, which brand do you usually use?
HA: No specific brand.
You! What’s in your beauty bag?
HA: Glasses, wallet, keys, perfume, mints, a lip gloss and sunscreen.
You! When applying makeup, what do you fear the most?
HA: Breakout, as I have very sensitive skin.
You! Do you go to salon regularly for your facials?
HA: No, I only go to my cosmologist for my HydraFacial and laser treatment once a month.

HA: Prep your skin, use good products which suits your skin type, clean your makeup before going to bed and let your skin breathe.

HA: Yes, I use hyaluronic acid.

HA: Online or if I’m travelling.

HA: Strictly, no!
You! What does the word ‘beauty’ mean to you?
HA: Beauty is all about being yourself, accepting yourself and carrying yourself with confidence. For me beauty is all about attractiveness.
