Let’s get to know the likes and dislikes of this young model…

you & me

Umer Rehman is a young model working his way up in the fashion industry. The emerging model brought honour to his country when he became the UNICEF’s most coveted ‘Glory of Country Award 2020’ in recognition of his philanthropic contribution for the good of the society. After stepping into the fashion world, it was designer Ashar Naqvi who approached him through Facebook for a shoot. It turned out to be a massive hit and later his mentor Yasu Hameed brought him a streak of notable projects which helped him consolidate his position as a mainstream model. After signing up with a talent agency, Umer did TVCs for big brands like McDonald’s, Jazz, Himalaya Herbal, Vava Car, Bank Alfalah, FoodPanda to name a few. As for fashion shoots, he has been featured for Amir Adnan, Deepak & Fahad, Amir Khan followed by brand endorsements for High Street, Diners, Edge Republic to name a few. Now, Umer is looking forward to step into acting, but he is just waiting for an impactful role to make that transition. Let’s get to know the likes and dislikes of this young model…

You! What’s your claim to fame project?

The commercial where I shared the screen with Ayeza Khan, shot in UAE.

You! What is your biggest strength?

My mother’s prayers and my optimism that saves me from getting derailed.

You! Who do you credit for your success?

My mentor, Yasu Hamid, who became my pillar of support and held my hand when I really needed the work to establish myself in the industry.

You! Something you’re strongly possessive about:

My career and the goals that I set in life.

You! What is your most cherished moment?

When I received the UNICEF’s Glory of Country Award 2020 in recognition of my contribution to philanthropic causes.

You! Something thing you would like to remember…

Unconditional support from my friend Yasir and photographer Imran Khan in my career and life. Without their help and guidance, I wouldn’t have made it this far.

You! Something you like about yourself:

I always follow my heart and that’s why, no matter how busy I happen to be, I keep myself available for all sort of philanthropic efforts. This is because in this work rests my real contentment.

You! When feeling low you prefer…

I prefer a cup of tea and being with myself.

You! How do you let off steam?

If something happens against my rule book, I control my anger by doing dumbbells in the gym or going for a quick run.

You! Your worst nightmare:

It would be if I fail to follow my fitness regimen.

You! Your definition of love:

Love is a fact in the beginning and it becomes a relatable theory at the end. It’s not an obsession or a delusion as it exists in longing and appreciation.

You! You like girls who are:

Those who know how to carry themselves with élan.

You! You get turned on by:

Beauty with brains and a good conversation.

You! Love marriage, arranged or being single?

I would likely prefer to be single.

You! Your teenage crush:

Aishwarya Rai.

You! One person you would like to dine out with:

Hania Amir.

You! You wish you could:

I wish I could turn back the clock, change things and reconcile rationally.

You! Do you have any regrets?

Due to the pandemic, the UNICEF’s event got postponed, and I couldn't go to Sri Lanka, for the grand event, where I was supposed to receive my UNICEF’s award.

You! A message for our readers:

To spark positive change, we should have values of benevolence and empathy, and make an effort to live meaningful lives.
