odel and fitness enthusiast, Faraz Khan stepped into the modelling industry upon much insistence from his friends. He approached director Umar Shahid at Evolution, who referred him to photographer Imran Durrani. And soon, his confidence and hard work got him his first break. Starting off with an ad for Telenor, ads for multinational brands like Ufone followed. Alongside this, he completed his education from University of Karachi and went on to do advanced diploma courses in fitness.

Moreover, Faraz has played district-level cricket, been a national-level arm wrestler. He recently started his organisation, Road To Fitness (RTF), that focuses on health and fitness programmes. Faraz has a number of shoots lined up and is also working with Cuckoo Films and director Farhan Ahmed for a series of fitness videos. Let’s check out the likes and dislikes of this model…

What’s the best and worst thing about being a model?

Meeting new people, free trips to exotic places, browsing picturesque locale and travelling are some of the perks; whereas, I don’t find anything worst about it.

Fame, money or passion?

Passion is what brings everything. If you are passionate about anything, you’ll work hard to attain it and the rest follows.

What is your most valuable possession?

My mother’s prayers and my father’s values.

What are you strongly possessive about?

My personal space and freedom.

What are you grateful for?

I’m indebted to my mentor for believing in me and helping me personally and professional. He is more than a real brother to me.

Something you’d like to remember:

My mentor’s struggle.

Something you’d like to forget:

People who tried to derail me.

Something you like about yourself:

My passion and hard work.

Something you would like to change about yourself:

Apart from my ego and mood swings, I need to cut down on my long naps as they make me lazy.

What’s the most important relationship lesson that you have learnt?

Honesty and friendship are key; and tell the person how you feel.

Your celebrity crush:

Scarlett Johansson.

Someone you’d like to dine with:

Margot Robbie.

How do you unwind?

I head to the gym.

What’s the song that always gets you on the dance floor?

Laugh Now Cry Later by Drake.

What makes you uncomfortable?

Having conversations with delusional people.

What is a bad day to you?

A day without being in the gym.

What keeps you motivated?

It’s a tough world and you have to work hard to get your goals.

What is your tip to stay zen?

For catharsis, I lace up my sneakers and go for a run. Other than that, then I Rumble – my new boxing-inspired fitness class.

Favourite cheat meal:

I go hard on junk food for a day or two and then head back to my regular seafood, nuts, veggies and fruits.

What’s the best fitness advice you can give?

Avoid crash diets and opt for a certified trainer as you’ll need an unbiased pair of eyes to track your progress.

Where do you see yourself in next 5 years?

Running a state-of-the-art fitness gym in a posh area.
