Every model has a story of how they started off. For some it’s smooth sailing, for some it isn’t. Being an active user of social media, Mubesher Rauf posted his portraits on the web. He was discovered by a famous designer, who offered him a shoot and a chance to be in Bridal Couture Week. Little did he know that his family would be strongly opposed to the idea of him joining the showbiz industry. However, this bump in the road didn’t keep him down for long. He continued to work on his social media which eventually led him to his next offer.
Designer Ali Xeeshan approached him for a shoot and this time Mubesher was confident and driven to do his best. Courtesy to his efforts, Mubesher was then selected for ‘Ijaazat’, a fashion film for Ali Xeeshan’s Theater Studio’s PLBW collection in 2018. This opened up new opportunities for the upcoming model in the industry. By now, he’s been a part of many shoots by top designers like Nilofer Shahid and brands like ChenOne, Ismail’s Clothing, Footlib, Leisure Club, Texas Burger and Equator. An unusual compliment that I got in the beginning of my career. I was accompanied by a fashion coordinator to KR Studio and photographer Khawar Riaz called out with a ‘How are you, Shakespeare?’
You! Do you have any regrets?
There was a shoot by Ashna Khan where Hania Amir and I were the main leads, but I couldn’t pursue it due to a critical family matter.
You! What was the happiest moment of your life?
When my father saw me on the billboards for the first time ever. He came home and proudly announced ‘That’s my son!’. Then, the whole family went out to see the boards across the city. It was truly the happiest and the proudest moment of my life.

Believe in yourself and work diligently to pursue your goals.
