Ahsan Khan has signed on for Yasir Nawaz’s next, tentatively titled Chakkar, that is expected to release later this year. Earlier, Feroze Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his film Tich Button this Eid ul Azha, was supposed to star in the project opposite Mawra Hocane but they are reportedly no longer associated with the film. Ahsan Khan will now be playing the lead role of Kabir.

“The film is a suspense thriller and a dark comedy, I would say,” Ahsan told Instep, adding that it is not funny but a ‘dark comedy’. “I think this genre hasn’t been explored before, as far as I can think of films that have come out in the new age of cinema. It is a well knitted, interesting film; I have gone through the script a couple of times and I like it.”

Aside from Ahsan Khan, there are a few other pivotal characters that are integral to the film, according to Ahsan. Directed by Yasir Nawaz, who last directed Wrong No. 2 featuring Sami Khan and Neelam Muneer, the film will be produced by Nida Yasir while it will be presented and distributed under the banner of Eveready Pictures. Who will be playing the female lead, is the question on everyone’s mind.
