Saba Qamar, whose last performance on television drama Cheekh attracted a lot of appreciation for the actress is expected to appear in not one but two films this year. While she has shot for Sarmad Khoosat’s second film (after Zindagi Tamasha) of the year, Kamli, she will soon be on the sets for her recently announced film, Ghabrana Nahi Hai.
“I will begin shooting for it in Karachi in the first week of April,” she informed Instep during a telephonic conversation. Saba is presently busy filming an upcoming web series, Mann Jogi, in Lahore for Zee5, which features Noman Ijaz and is being directed by maestro Kashif Nisar.
Speaking about what made her sign on for Ghabrana Nahi Hai, Saba shared, “I just loved the script; it is a sit-com with a proper story. It is very interesting and I’m excited for it.”
Ghabrana Nahi Hai features Zahid Ahmed opposite Saba; the two have appeared together in three projects on television in the past. In the film, Zahid plays a police officer who tries to help this girl, essayed by Saba, with a huge problem that she has. In doing so, he hopes to impress her with a very elaborate lie and that forms the crux of the story.
Written by Mohsin Ali and directed by Saqib Khan, the film will be produced under the banner of JB Films, helmed by Jamil Baig, while it will be co-produced by Hassan Zia.
