When it comes to award shows, there is always a lot of hullabaloo around it. Whether it’s something someone’s wearing, something someone said, a controversy and whatnot. While celebrities are honoured in these award shows several times during the year for their contributions in entertainment whether it is making music or acting in films, theatre, or television, each has a different vibe and aesthetic. Despite all the fuss around the event and who’s won what, some of us are truly just interested in what celebrities are wearing and how they have decked themselves up. Keeping a look out, this week You! walks down the red carpet of the recently held PISA Awards in Dubai to spot the best looks...
For this evening, Sana Javed keeps it simple and subtle, channelling a girl next door vibe.
Dressed in an all black sequined dress, Sana’s chestnut brown hair in loose waves brings a bit of warmth to her overall look.
Complementing that, her makeup is a golden bronze smokey eye with glossy peach lips
Unlike most of ladies on the red carpet, she leans more towards a matte look with some highlight over a satin skin.
Moomal Sheikh flaunts the pantone colour on the carpet in her classic blue dress.
It’s not a particularly flattering dress but she tries and keeps her focus on just the colour itself.
It’s a bold choice and shows her experimental side. With a top knot, Moomal’s makeup is matte base, a soft classic smokey eye and matte lips.
We also love her bejewelled earrings with adds a bit more drama to her getup.
Channelling the dusky vibe, Mahira dons a shimmery and sparkly ensemble from Rami Kadi, a Lebanese-American fashion designer; but she also balances her getup with a subdued makeover.
Keeping her hair sleek, her makeup is kept in neutral tones and keeping her skin matte. Her eyebrows are well-defined and her voluminous lashes add a bit of drama to her makeover.
Ayesha Omar is all about the sparkle and channels a Queen Bey vibe with a body-hugging 20s style frill maxi matched with equally sparkly earrings.
She keeps her skin glowy - which is mostly achieved by a satin finish foundation mixed with liquid highlight - paired with a peachy blush and a peach glossy lip.
Her eye makeup is very light - we notice some white glittery shadow peeking through the inner corner and a brown shadow lining under the lower lash line. Even her liner isn’t dramatic. Ayesha’s simple waves ties the whole look in a chic bow.
A sari looks graceful no matter what the occasion is and Sarwat Gillani opts for a midnight blue one. Sarwat’s makeup is dewy and uses a generous highlight to make the skin look juicy.
There is a touch of a peach blush paired with a tawny pink.
Sarwat’s eye makeup is also minimal - with a brush of champagne shimmer and a brown outer corner - paired with half-tied hair and loose curls. She truly looks elegant in her makeover.
LADY IN PINK
Hareem shows off her girly side in this look of hers. Wearing a pink dress with floral motifs, her makeover is kept soft in theme with the fun and young attire. One can achieve this look by starting off with a dewy base and blending in the liquid highlight on the high points of your face followed by a pink blush and a matte pink lip.
For the eye makeup, start off with a peach transition shade and then add some champagne glitter in the centre and light brown on the outer corner. The hair is also kept in loose curls for a softer look.
While Sonya Hussayn’s retro sari choice is a little questionable, we are living for her graphic neon eyeliner.
Her hair is tied up with some curls on the side, and her makeup is also a Hollywood classic - glowy skin and tawny lips.
However, Sonya’s eyeliner is the only experimentation that caught us.
