INGREDIENTS

Gram flour 1/2 cup

Oil 4 tbsp

Tomatoes (finely chopped) 2-3

Salt 1 tsp

Red chilli 1 tbsp

Turmeric 1/2 tsp

Curry leaves 1 stick

Garlic ginger paste 1 tbsp

Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp

Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp

Tamarind pulp 4-5 tbsp

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Dried red chillies 3-4

Vegetables of your choice

METHOD

  • Sauté mustard, fenugreek, cumin, dried chillies in a little oil until fragrant.
  • Add gram flour and mix tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes and then add two cups of water and let it simmer.
  • While simmering, add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric and garlic ginger paste as well.
  • Add vegetables (drumsticks and potatoes, for this dish) and cook. Add more water if there is less in the pan.
  • Once the vegetables are cooked, add tamarind pulp and simmer for another five minutes.
  • Serve with rice.
