Actor-director Shamoon Abbasi, who directed Durj last year, has multiple big screen projects lined up for 2020. One of them is an upcoming film called Delhi Gate, in which he will be starring as an antagonist. The actor shared the first look of the film on New Year ’s Eve, announcing that it will come out in 2020.
Instep got in touch with Abbasi to find out more about the film. He shared that it is a love story that begins at the Delhi Gate, encompassing the flavour and colors of people living in the area.
“I play the role of a millionaire and how his influence can become a problem for the couple in love,” Abbasi shared in an exclusive conversation with Instep.
A few people from the PR industry felt that there should be a proper PR strategy rather than releasing the first look all of a sudden. When asked about his take, Abbasi responded, “I think launching a first look teaser has been always a good strategy to attract the audience; as the film is still on floors, teasing with a poster seems to be a good way of keeping the project alive.”
He informed that almost 70 per cent of the shoot is done while some songs and action sequences are yet to be shot. Delhi Gate is expected to release somewhere in the middle of 2020.
