The charming and multi-talented Hareem Farooq began her career with theater in 2012, playing the lead role in ‘Pawnay 14 August’ and ‘Aangan Terha’. She was introduced to the showbiz world by Osman Khalid Butt. Hareem made her screen debut with a leading role in the 2013 horror thriller ‘Siyaah’. She made her television debut with ‘Mausam’ alongside Ahsan Khan and Yumna Zaidi in 2014 followed by ‘Mere Humdum Mere Dost’, ‘Dusri Bivi’. She then showed her acting skills in several hit television serials including ‘Diyar-e-Dil’ (2015) and ‘Sanam’ (2016). She co-produced ‘Janaan’ followed by her 2018 blockbuster ‘Parchi’. What are your most memorable drama serials to-date?

‘Diyar-e-Dil’ and ‘Mere Hamdam Mere Dost’.

What made you interested in doing films?

I started my career from theater and films are my ultimate goal. I’m a film person.

What are you expecting from your latest movie ‘Heer Maan Ja’?

I am expecting so much from this film, I worked with all my heart and I hope that there will be a big smile on everyone’s face while leaving cinema.

Can you describe a bit about your role in Heer Maan Ja?

A super innocent girl who always wants to make everyone happy, she is her dad’s favourite.

If you get an offer, will you do Bollywood?

I got offers but I did not like it.

Is acting your passion or just a time pass or a way of making money?

It’s my passion.

Your favourite designer:

Nomi Ansari.

Your favourite photographers:

Rizwan ul Haq and Shahbaz Shazi.

What do you usually wear in daily life?

Jeans t-shirt and Shalwar Kameez

What is one cosmetic you cannot do without?

L’Oreal mascara and Sephora Lip and cheek tint.

I love to tease people.

I love home cooked food.

I always wash my makeup before going to bed and use sunblock.

I can cry at every movie.

Drink lemon tea.

If I have time then I sleep.

How do you like to spend your Sundays?

I spend my Sundays with my family and friends.

What’s your favourite breakfast food?

A good cheese omelette.

The most important relationship lesson I have learnt so far...

It is very important to try and understand the other person’s perspective as well and not to make your own assumptions and judgments.

If you had access to a time machine which era would you revisit?

’60s.

What do you think this country needs the most?

Need to change the mindset.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Probably representing Pakistan on an international platform.
