In the year 2018, we saw a plethora of movies releasing off and on. A handful of films appeared to be super hits, while the rest of them didn’t impress the masses much. While we are all familiar with what’s hot or not on the Hollywood and Bollywood front, it’s refreshing to see we are welcoming content from other parts of the world as well.

Recently, an Egyptian suspense-thriller, ‘122’, was thriller brought to Pakistan by ABA Associates and dubbed in Urdu. The grand special screening of the movie was held at a local cinema in Karachi with celebrities and socialites in attendance.

Ali Chaudhry, the distributor for the film shared, “I feel excited to have achieved this great milestone. This is definitely a first in Pakistan for any foreign language movie dubbed in Urdu. I am really grateful for all the positive reviews we have received from all those who watched the film and especially to the stars for taking out the time and appreciating it so whole-heartedly. ABA is also thankful to cinema owners who have shown great interest in this movie and have allocated show slots accordingly. We would also like to put on record our appreciation for our media partners and the film’s international cast for being part of this phenomenal beginning.”

The story revolves around a couple, Nasr and Omneya, as they struggle for survival when trapped during a trip. As they try to get out of the situation safely, they are faced with one problem after the other during the night. The cast of 122 includes Tarek Lotfi, Ahmed Daoud, Amina Khalil, Ahmed Al-Fishawi, Mohammad Lutfi, Jihane Khalil and Mohammed Mamdouh among others. It is produced by Saif Oraibi, written by Salah Al Gehiny, while the editor is Amr Akef, DOP is Ahmed Kardous and line producer is Mohamed Nassar.

This movie is the first step towards building a stronger relation with UAE and Egypt. Bringing more of their movies to our cinemas with bring variety of content and further the ties between our countries. Kudos!
