Japan is the land of the rising sun. It boasts many awe-inspiring sceneries, the most advanced technology, sinfully good cuisine, and world-dominating anime. Japanese food is one of the most popular cuisines in the world and for good reason. Based on ‘rules of five’, traditional Japanese cooking, or washoku, emphasizes variety and balance. This is achieved through the use of five colours (black, white, red, yellow, and green), five cooking techniques (raw food, grilling, steaming, boiling, and frying), and five flavours (sweet, spicy, salty, sour, and bitter). With its aesthetic of beautifully presented food and the use of fresh, high-quality seasonal ingredients, it’s no wonder that Japan’s cuisine is so delicious and so highly prized by people around the world. If you want to try authentic Japanese food in Karachi then go to Avari Towers where the management has organised Japanese Food Festival at Fujiyama, the authentic Japanese restaurant to let the visitors explore the taste of Japanese cuisines.

“Though we have a full-fledge Japanese restaurant, the idea of organising this food festival is to promote and encourage people to try Japanese food. Until recently, Japanese food typically meant sushi, sukiyaki and tempura, but at the on-going Japanese Food Festival, you can enjoy a number of Japanese delicacies in a serene ambiance,” says Madiha Ovais of Avari.

There are a range of appetizers (cold & hot), main course, soups and Teppanyaki (food cooked on iron griddle). The cold appetizers include Mixed Sushi, Sashimi and Maki, Namayasai Sarada, Gomoku Sarada, Hiyashi Wakame, Gyu Tataki and Maguro Tataki. On the other hand, the hot appetizers include Ebi and Tori Gyoza, Satsuma Age, Agedashi Tofu, Negima Yaki and Ebi Furai to name a few. The main courses have some of the most popular Japanese cuisines including Tori Katsu, Gyu Katsu, Sakana Katsu, Tori Teriyaki and Sakana Teriyaki.

The festival will last till 16th December at Fujiyama, so hurry up and delve into the legitimate flavours at the Japanese Food Festival before you miss it.
