bridals
Planning a wedding and pulling it off without a hitch is no small feat. Keeping this in mind, Sara Chapra organised a two-day wedding expo in Karachi, recently. You! takes a look...
Weddings are among the grandest and special occasions in our lives. Pakistani weddings are colourful affairs known for the glitz, glamour, colour and sheer opulence. They are just another reason for families to come together, party and celebrate for days.
By nature, weddings are fraught with details. Brides everywhere agonize over the location, decor and other arrangements. There is a saying that a woman’s life begins on her wedding day.
It is considered as one of the turning points of her life, and because of this, it is a day when she is supposed to look her best. But before the celebrations come the preparations - and the all important shopping. Right from the bridal jora to makeup and jewellery, everything should be perfect.
Bridal jewellery
Jewellery is a great way to add colour to your wedding day. Every year wedding jewellery trends change up just a bit. Wedding jewellery trends that are in this season are chandelier earrings, statement necklaces and bangles, stacked cuffs and cocktail rings. The overall trend in wedding jewellery today, however, is more traditional. This season big and bold jewellery is taking over the wedding scene. Modern bridal jewellery these days also incorporate antique touches. Vintage designed necklaces bedeck with soft, feminine pearls and sparkling gemstones are perfect statement piece to add to any dress. Therefore if we address 2018 wedding jewellery trends as splashy and flashy then we aren’t exaggerating in any manner.
Bridal dresses
Out of all the wedding paraphernalia bridal dress is something which has to be exceptionally good and for that matter many a young and modern bride-to-be turn to bridal designers to give them somewhat unique to wear on their D-day. In our part of the world bridal dresses are picked, created and worn with a lot of care and attention. The designers choose vibrant colours to spread the embellishments and sequins.
They offer customised services that include designs, shapes, sizes, patterns, colour, embroidery and embellishments. Outfits embellished with crystals, embroidery, and stones add to the bridal glamour. The predominant themes we are seeing in bridal wear this season are flirtatious, full bodied, romantic dresses that play with texture and colour using vintage inspired accessories and beautiful embroideries.
Bridal makeup
A wedding day is most likely to be one of the most treasured days in a bride’s life. Therefore, brides expect to look and feel their best. That is where a makeup artist can enter with the wand and add to the dazzle and elegance of the wedding day. A corrective, subtle makeup that enhances your best features and makes you naturally radiant and beautiful is probably the best because the first thing people will notice on your wedding day is how stunning and radiant you look. In 2018 makeup is taking a turn for a more natural, seamless and blended look - eyes are defined; brows are groomed; lashes are long and fluttery whereas cheeks and lips are glamorous.
Sparking accessories
The bridal wear is now complemented with interesting fashion accessories be it the elegant sandals, or the sequined clutch bags. The sandals not only match the trousseau in terms of colour but also come with fine embroidery and gems. Brides-to-be can get a wide range of short or high hilled sandals at any store. Handbags for brides are yet another fashion accessory which is available in wide range of variety.
