It’s known for their marvellous and unique varieties which are a blend of distinctive flavours. Pakistan has some of the most diverse and flavourful traditional dishes with a deep history that connects it to a particular province.
The citizens of Pakistan celebrate its Independence with enthusiasm and zeal every year. This time around, Avari Towers Hotel is hosting ‘Jashan-e-Azadi Food Festival’. The concept of the event is to provide mouth-watering and lip-smacking delicacies of each region of Pakistan. The ambiance at poolside depicts the culture of all the provinces; Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Each province illustrates a vast variety of traditional dishes, beverages and desserts. Punjab is known for its desi taste such as its kata kat, roti with saag, chicken/beef barbecue, and nobody can miss out on the lassi with food. Whereas behari boti, bun kebab, koyla kerhai and biryani are Sindh’s favourite. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is famous for its chapli kebab, Kabli pulao and mutton charsi tikka with Kashmiri chai after the meal. Nimbu kehwa is Balochistan’s welcome drink, along with Dumpukht and Chicken sajji being its trademark dishes. Gilgilt Baltistan has a very different traditional menu and taste where the specialties are a whole lamb, Harissa, their famous dessert Ghalmandi and Tumoro tea.
The beauty of Jashan-e-Azadi Food Festival is that you’ll be able to see all of Pakistan and its traditional dishes up close all under one roof. One of the motives behind this food festival is to let our generation know about how vast, beautiful and appealing our culture and its cuisines are. The hotel is celebrating this food fiesta with all their guests in a traditional Pakistani style.
