Outside the venue, immaculately dressed up people waited patiently for their turns to enter the beautiful heritage site - Haveli of Wajid Ali Shah in Lahore - where the iconic couturier HSY’s solo show was put up. Soon after, they were whisked away for red carpet photo ops. Inside, the atmosphere buzzed with the fashionable lot who came out in their best white finery - as the theme for the venue - to mingle with each other. Many were seemingly bewitched by the ambiance and magic spun by designer HSY and his team.

Pakistan’s premier luxury designer celebrated 24 years of his brand with its solo couture show ‘Mohabbat Nama, HSY Couture’ at the historic 250-year-old haveli in Lahore. The couture collection of the label featured an unprecedented 70 models with superstar and HSY muse, Reema Khan, closing the show. Each outfit worn had been named after the model wearing it in tribute to them and their careers. Indeed, the show also featured parts of HSY’s 24-year-legacy-journey; from supermodels ZQ, Natasha Hussain, Simi Pasha, Vaneeza Ahmed, Abdullah Ejaz, and Andaleb Rana; to Nael Ahmed and long-time collaborator and stylist Shahzad Raza and HSY’s first ever model, his sister. “‘Mohabbat Nama’ is also a journey of my evolution as I am myself a musafir of time; it was a show where I looked to my past and the HSY legacy; where we started with our first collections, solo shows, shoots, models, makeup artists, stylists, incorporating all of these elements within the show. Each outfit in the show had been created bespoke, for each model and their personality; creating harmony between fashion and the person who was wearing it; for at HSY, a model is not simply someone who wears what is put on them but rather an architect of her own style and elegance,” shared Hassan Sheheryar Yasin aka HSY about his collection.

Talking about the evening, it was a sight to behold as if of a fairyland that was conceptualised by Jalal Salahuddin Events. The ambiance transported one into the era of Moguls where everything was majestic and grand. The first-of-its-kind curated evening was opened with moving words of Faiz Ahmed Faiz as narrated by his daughter, artist Salima Hashmi, followed by the unveiling of ‘Mohabbat Nama’. Then set to a soundtrack of some of Pakistan’s most iconic music through the years, HSY’s collection came to life with over 70 models adorned in HSY couture.

Featuring men and women wear, the collection was a tribute to the city with its legacy, tradition and heritage presented as an entire show ‘experience’. According to the designer, “The evening stepped in the romance of Lahore, and hosted in a haveli over 250-years-old, favoured by the fifth King of Oudh. Based in the walled city of Lahore, the place is immersed in its own history of the Nawab’s courts, its romance, intrigues, poetry, dance, architecture and ambition, all of which for me presented the perfect palette for this collection. Every element of the show had been curated: each look, each outfit, each model, each walk, each sound, light, projection; the culinary experience; the music experience.”

The brand’s signature craftsmanship with innovative techniques, embellishments, motifs, embroideries and unique colour palettes made the crowd swoon over it. HSY and his team were responsible for the most exquisite jewellery pieces for the bridal showcase and Nabila (N-Pro and N-Gents) were the beauty partners and photography was done by Team Dragonfly. The best part of the event was that everyone experienced the show up close thanks to the seating platforms. The event concluded with an everlasting feel of royalty and charisma.
