Undoubtedly Pakistan has a deep relationship with China, and interestingly this relation is not just limited to heart but our taste buds as well. It is true that China’s flavour-rich cuisine is a staple in most of Pakistani homes. From home-cooked chicken Jalfrezi to a nearby desi restaurant’s version of hot and sour soup, we often find pleasure in Chinese delicacies with an additional touch of South Asian spices.

Adding to the list of Chinese restaurants in Pakistan, ‘Xinhua Capital’ is a name that a Chinese food lover can bank on. Recently, the restaurant was relaunched and relocated in the busy F6 Markaz Supermarket Main Road, Islamabad. It was launched with a glamorous red carpet event hosted by the owners Zafar Rahim and Naveed Arshad while the event was managed by Rezz Aly Shah.

At the launch, fabulous finger food was served as hors d’oeuvres to the guests. The sesame chicken was spicy and a good teaser for the taste buds. The guests were served with a wide range of Chinese and Thai dishes. The Kung Pao Chicken - which was not something new for the people who love Chinese cuisines - was made really well. With the perfect thickness of the gravy topped with the right amount of peanuts, this dish was a safe bet for the attendees. The Garlic Prawns were delicious; batter fried prawns dipped in sauce with just the right amount of coating which didn’t make the prawns soggy but kept them crunchy instead. Chicken with cashew and green chillies was a perfect fusion of all tastes. The imported bell peppers from Thailand not only added colour to the dish, but also added a unique taste to it.

People at the launch ceremony enjoyed having the Szechuan Chicken, which was batter fried chicken pieces with a strong taste of oyster sauce, was great when served with rice. The stylish interiors made the guests feel at home.

As the menu suggests, the restaurant also offers fine dining with exclusivity. The exclusive location and quick service makes the restaurant stand out. With an interesting interior and comfortable lounges Xinhua is a perfect place for Islooties to relish good Chinese in a peaceful environment
