Let’s face it girls, fashion is an essential part of our lives and we try our best to follow up on trends that change season by season. And it is about time that we started reorganizing our wardrobes and look out for fashion statements that will rule this breezy summer season. As far as fabric is concerned, the best option is crispy cottons that look subtle yet chic. Read on...

Summer of love

  The colour palette:

Choosing appropriate colours according to the season is the most important rule that everyone must follow. Those who are addicted to basic hues are always in luck as shades such as white, black and blue never go out of style. But what you need to do is select a hue that reflects your personality and voila, you are all set to flaunt your style. This season opt for white instead of black. No we are not talking about off white or cream colour. Pure white is the way to go.

  Motifs & patterns:

Digital prints are still very in. But if you are tired of wearing the same prints over and over again, then opt for monotones. Go for a basic white cotton outfit with floral embellishments. And what better way to embellish your outfit with resham embroidery. Resham work is a type of embroidery done with coloured silk thread and the design can be simple or very intricate; it all depends on your choice.

  It’s dye time:

This trend is back with a bang. The tie-dye - short for tie, twist and dye - technique is popping up everywhere! You know that kind of very psychedelic, hippie graphic style that was all the rage in the 1970s...Tie-dye patterns add colour and charm to your outfits. You can either go for a tie & dye top in white and black. Or if you want to keep the emphasis on your embellished top then opt for tie & dye bell bottoms. If you are daring enough than go for an overall tie-dye suit!

  Tassels in the town:

The easiest way to look on point this season is to have things hanging off your clothes. We are talking about tassels. A bit boho, a bit tickly, the tassel has been spotted on runways and now designers are also incorporating tassels in their casual and semi formal outfits. Capes, kurtis, peplums even trousers have tassels on them. They look trendy for sure, but remember don’t go overboard with tassels.

  Pants on fire:

This season is all about wearing what you feel comfortable in. This season there is a twist and all the designers are experimenting straight trousers, bell bottoms and cropped bell bottoms. Yes, the shirts are either short or long but now you have plenty of options to choose from when it comes to lowers! Don’t want to go through the hassle of designing your own clothes, check out Saira Rizwan’s latest collection ‘Summer of love’. It has all that you need.

  Tousled chic:

It’s time to let your hair take the sartorial centre stage. This season beachy is the way to go. Beach waves also called Mermaid waves are now the ‘it’ look. If you want to achieve salon-like beach waves, then rule no. 1 is to pick the right product to make your style last. A light hold mousse or curl cream work best. To avoid that crispy look, apply sparingly to damp mid lengths and ends. You also need to work with your hair’s texture. If it is straight, tong in roughly divided sections, then tease it out with your fingers. Embrace a natural wave by twisting and coiling strands, then pin them up until dry to amplify what you have already got. Don’t want to let your beach waves lose? Then you can even tie a half top knot bun.

  Makeup play:

Our overall look is not complete without makeup. We have seen it on the runway a million times and we just can’t get over the smokey eye makeup with soft peach and pink lips. This look is ideal for a casual lunch or kitty. What you need to do is prep up your skin with a good quality moisturiser. Then apply a liquid base/foundation and brush it off with a translucent face powder.

Next up is shaping your brow with an eyebrow pencil. For soft smokey apply black winged eyeliner and use a small shader brush to put on the brown shadow over the whole lid. The key is to stretch a little shadow a long way. Blend the edges thoroughly with a clean brush for that flawless and seamless finish, then apply a little of your favourite mascara to the upper lashes. Dust a little pink blush over your cheekbones and end your look by applying a pink or peach shade that’s not too bright.
