Well, nothing beats live music! And if it is a live ghazal performance then you would definitely know that the experience is just out of this world. Confused? Recently, ‘Ghazal Night with Salman Alvi’ was organised at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi in collaboration with Media Box.
Did you know that ghazal traces its roots in classical Arabic poetry and it actually grew from the Persian qasida (a verse form that had come to Iran from Arabia)? From poetic form, ghazal acquired musical form in the 18th and 19th centuries - the period when it became associated with courts. Admit it or not but the magical combination of beautiful lyrics and dulcet voices of ghazal singers leave an indelible mark on the hearts and souls of ghazal listeners everywhere. Now coming back to the performance by ghazal singer Salman Alvi! The event started off with lavish refreshment arrangement and meet & greet session, which was followed by brief speeches by Tahir Khan and Rehan Faiz Pirzada. Later, Salman Alvi took the stage and performed his all-time hits. He not only entertained the audience but his soulful voice left all the ghazal lovers spellbound.
The hotel management, with great zeal and enthusiasm, always puts forward various cultural and literary festivities and celebrations of international accord all the year round, providing its guests with pleasant, fun-filled and memorable experiences.
