These days we often come across the term masterclass. But many of us don’t exactly know what masterclass actually means! Basically, this term is defined as a class taught by someone who has an expert knowledge or skill in a particular area - usually music, painting, drama, any of the arts, or makeup - in which techniques are taught and developed. When we talk about makeup masterclass, it is a definitive guide from renowned makeup artists who give insights on the latest beauty tips, secrets and step-by-step tutorials for aspiring makeup artists. And quite recently, one of Pakistan’s most sought after hair and makeup stylist Beenish Parvez, who has been in the beauty industry for more than 15 years now, held a one-day makeup masterclass for beginners at Dolmen Mall Clifton, Karachi.
According to the stylist, this was the first time ever that eight beauty brands sponsored this masterclass. “Usually makeup artists hold their private classes but this was something that never happened in the past. All makeup junkies and aspiring makeup artists came to attend the masterclass in which I demonstrated 3 looks,” said Beenish.
The three looks that Beenish created included ‘the no makeup look’; ‘smokey eye makeup’ and ‘glittery/shimmery makeup’. The beautician gave a detailed step by step demonstration of the techniques and products used to create these looks. “I taught different techniques of applying liquid base; colour correcting; how to use a primer and what are the benefits. The class was all about giving out easy tips and tricks to the girls who love to buy makeup but don’t know how to use it properly,” shared Beenish.
This is not all! The students were given branded goodie bags, certificates signed personally by Beenish Parvez and a sumptuous hi-tea. All in all, this class proved to be a success as everyone learnt some easy ways to apply makeup and also had a great time.
