Who says fashion can’t also have purpose? A great watch makes a

fashion statement, adding the finishing touch to any outfit...Watch out

Caring about fashion in the 21st century is more than keeping up appearances. Fashion allows an individual to express the type of person he or she is. Personal style speaks volumes about who you are, whether it is expressed through a haircut or tattoo, a handbag or wristwatch. Throughout modern history the wristwatch has become a symbol that defines the wearer. Like clothing, jewellery and other fashion accessories, designer watches reflect current popular styles as well as highly distinctive individual tastes.

Probably no other fashion accessory complements the well-dressed woman’s wardrobe more than a beautiful watch. A simple watch that tells the time of the day has also turned into a fashion accessory. A designer watch can be instantly recognised by its craftsmanship and elegance. A designer watch can be enhanced with stunning dials and elegant straps. There are different designer watch models for men and women. Exclusive designer watch series are diamond studded and can be linked to jewellery items. Either you wear a Rolex, Cartier, Casio or Tissot, your watch makes a statement. Besides that Phillipe Starck, Citizen and various Swiss brands are popular designer watch brands. A designer watch from Christian Dior or Bvlgari is an exclusive piece. Sports designer watch can be selected from brands like Timex and Tag Heur.

A watch is now billed as the status symbol. Judging from the full-page fancy watch ads that populate glossy magazines, this appears to be the case, at least for people who care about status symbols in the first place. It seems that we will continue to see a strong demand for fashion watches. And when it comes to fashion watches, ‘Sonraj’ took the haute horology industry to a new height by introducing prestigious watch brands in Pakistan. Sonraj has been associated with elite Swiss watch brands since its inception in 1976. Its first retail venture ‘Collectibles’ caters to a niche customer base with its exclusive fine brands.  It was in 1997 that ‘Collectibles’ first opened its doors to watch enthusiasts in Karachi and Lahore.

At the event, Patrik P. Hoffmann CEO of Ulysse Nardin unveiled ‘12 Wonders’ - their newly limited edition of luxury watches. The event was hosted by renowned TV and film actress Sarwat Gilani and was attended by friends of Collectibles like Waseem Akram, Shaniera Akram, Frieha Altaf, Javed Sheikh, Behroze Sabzwari, Iman Ali, Sana Bucha, Zhalay Sarhadi, Asim Jofa to name a few, along with other socialites and celebrities.

Patrik P. Hoffmann, who specially flew in from Zurich to attend the event said, “If you find a right partner who shares the same passion and vision, then you are on the right track”.

Rameez Sattar, CEO of Sonraj group, who was also present at the occasion stated, “Sonraj and Ulysse Nardin enjoy a great working relationship of mutual trust and respect and it is due to our ethical business practices that the brand enjoys tremendous success in the market.” All in all, it was a well organized event, kudos to Adnan Ansari of Riwayat for pulling off this event so brilliantly.
