BHUNA GOSHTEid Recipes

I N G R E D I E N T S

Mutton/ Beef  1 kg

Yoghurt         1/2 cup

Garam masala powder          1 tbsp

Red chilli powder       1 tbsp

Salt    2 tsps

Zeera powder 1 tbsp

Ginger paste   1 tbsp

Garlic paste    1 tbsp

Oil      3/4 cup

Onion (sliced) 1

Green chillies (chopped)       6

Coriander leaves (chopped)  1/2 cup

Mint leaves (chopped)         1/2 cup

M E T H O D

  • Wash the meat. In a bowl marinate meat with yoghurt, chilli powder, salt, zeera powder, garam masala, ginger and garlic paste.
  • Cover and marinate for 2 hours.
  • Then cook the meat on slow flame, until it's done and the water dries up.
  • Add oil in it and fry for 5 minutes, until the oil separates.
  • Add 1/2 cup of water in it (or depending on how thick you want the curry to be) and cook on slow fire for 10 more minutes.
  • Finally remove from heat and garnish with chopped green chillies, coriander and mint leaves and sliced onions. Serve with naan.

SPICY MUTTON CHOPSEid Recipes

I N G R E D I E N T S

Mutton chops 1\2 kg (10-12 pcs.)

Plain low-fat yoghurt 1 cup

Green chillies, finely chopped          4

Coriander powder      2 tsp

Turmeric powder       1\2 tsp

Ginger-garlic paste    1\2 tsp

Red chilli powder       1 tsp

Garam masala powder          1 tsp

Egg     1

Salt    (according to taste)

Oil

Onions sliced, for garnish     2

Lemon sliced, for garnish      1

M E T H O D

  •  In a bowl, mix together the yoghurt, ginger-garlic paste, corriander, red chilli, turmeric and garam masala powders, green chillies and salt to taste.
  •  Add the mutton chop pieces.
  •  Mix well so that the chops are coated well with the marinade.
  •  Marinate for 3 hours.
  •  Put the mutton chops {no water required} in a pressure cooker till done.
  •  Now remove each piece and keep aside.
  •  Beat an egg in a bowl using an electric beater until light and fluffy and just before serving; dip each mutton chop piece in the beaten egg.
  •  Heat oil in a wok and fry the mutton chops that have been dipped in the beaten egg.
  •  Drain on clean paper towels to remove excess oil and then transfer the mutton chops on a serving platter.
  •  Garnish with onion slices and sliced lemon pieces.
  •  Serve immediately with green chutney of your choice.
