1: I will be spending Eid with my family. If I get a long break from work then I prefer to travel with my family of course.
2. Amir Adnan is the perfect choice for Eid. Decent yet classy!
3. When my mum is around she prepares special dishes on Eid and all of them are just out of this world. My wife makes divine cakes and desserts, so looking forward to that.
4. I plan to watch all three movies ‘Janaan’, ‘Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai’ and ‘Actor in Law’ that are releasing on Eid.
5. I prefer ‘qurbani’ at home. That’s the spirit of Eid where you sacrifice and then distribute it among the needy. I have picked out a slum area where I will distribute the meat amongst the residents of that area, as they deserve it the most.
6. Have a blessed Eid!
Faakhir
1: Eid is basically family time. I always celebrate ‘bari’ Eid with my family and close relatives.
2: I don’t believe in buying new clothes for Eid. I think Eid is the best time to include less privileged in our happiness. It is the time to revive the spirit of giving and togetherness.
3. I like all customary things. So on bari Eid we like to serve our guests with traditional goodies like sheer, kababs, haleem etc. We even do barbeque on 2nd or 3rd day of Eid.
4. I am a staunch supporter of Pakistani cinema. I am looking forward to watch ‘Actor in Law’.
5. If I am travelling on Eid then of course I prefer getting it done through some outlet but if I am home then I would like to go the conventional way.
6: Our country is like our home so let’s keep our home clean!
Nadia Hussain
1: In our family it’s mandatory to have lunch and dinner together. I like the idea of
meeting and seeing your relatives on Eid.
2. I have just launched my new lawn collection so I am going to wear one from my own collection.
3. All traditional goodies like haleem and chaat.
4. ‘Zindagi Kitni Haseen hai.’
5. With changing lifestyle it’s good that now we have the convenience to do ‘qurbani’ through outlets; so we go for a hassle free option.
6. Don’t spread hate. Be tolerant to other sects of the society too.
Amir Adnan
1: Eid is totally a family oriented affair. Eid is the perfect time to spend quality time with your kids and kin.
2. This year I am going to wear black and white printed kurta over white pant-pajamas accompanied with black waistcoat complemented with a handkerchief - my own label.
3. I always look forward to have our family’s specialties - ‘Bhunna ghost’ and ‘Bhunni kaleji’.
4. ‘Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai’.
5. I do ‘qurbani’ generally at home but this year I am going to do it through ‘Saylani welfare trust’.
6. Spend time with your parents. They are precious. You miss them when they go away!
Atiya Khan
1: Eid calls for spending time with your family. I cherish Eid holidays as it gives me an opportunity to have fun with my family.
2. Traditional kurta/ shalwar.
3. My mother is Hyderabadi so she makes Hyderabadi delicacies especially for Eid.
4. ‘Janaan’.
5. Not at home. We mostly get it done through some welfare trust.
6. Be optimistic. Good days are going to come for our country soon.
Hasan Rizvi
1: I always celebrate Eid with my family. This Eid I am super excited as I am going to take my little son to ‘Eid ki namaz’ for the first time. I believe that we should inculcate our values in our children.
2. I am wearing white kurta by Sania Maskatiya. Sania designs a small collection of white kurtas for men on Eid.
3. Our family’s signature dishes are ‘sawaiyaan’, ‘anday ka halwa’, ‘kabab and tikyaa’.
4. ‘Actor in Law’. The film looks promising and since I am a great fan of Om Puri, I can’t wait to see the first show, (if I get the ticket).
5. I prefer ‘qurbani’ at home. It gives a traditional feel to the whole ambiance.
6.Ours is one of the biggest charitable countries of the world. I urge my fellow countrymen to keep up the spirit of charity!
Ali Gul Pir
1. Eid is all about family. So the whole day is spent driving here and there to meet different family members. Eat at every house and then reach home at night and crash on the bed!
2. I will wear awesome clothes by Almirah, I think they do men’s eastern wear quite well. I will look very sexy!
3. My mom actually makes the best biryani so yes we will have that. And my mother-in-law makes amazing dishes that can only be found in amazing restaurants, so I am excited to see what will be on the menu. I am hoping for the ‘Thai Green Curry’.
4. I watch one film almost every day. So it is quite possible that I will be watching a film on one of the Eid days too. I have not decided yet which one it will be but ‘Actor in Law’ seems like a good one.
5. I think hygiene is also a factor here, plus I hate people who put up tents on the road like it’s their backyard and keep the animals there. The tent takes up most of the road. I know that one must keep an animal at home so you get attached to it before it’s sacrificed but I frankly don’t have the space for a bakra in my apartment. So Edhi it is! I choose the bakra and I trust it goes to the deserving as well.
6. Give happiness to others and be kind to all. When you send out positivity and happiness, you will receive it too. Think of people who do not have a family and try to make them feel better. Even if you can spread one smile, it means a lot. Now I will go cry in the corner like our Pakistani dramas show to imply that I’ve said something deep and profound. Anyway, Eid Mubarak!
Raana Khan
1. Usually I plan a vacation but this time I have projects post Eid so I plan to spend it in Karachi. I will be spending most of my time with family and friends.
2. I have a few options to wear between Tena Durani, ‘Blocked’ by Afsheen and Sana Safinaz. So, I will pair a kurta with tulip pants.
3. Mutton leg roast, biryani and something sweet is in demand during Eid.
4. I might do a movie marathon at home and watch all the movies I have missed so far.
5. For us it is better to get it done through Meat One.
6. One thing that I feel very strongly about is that animals bought for the purpose of sacrifice should be treated with utmost love and respect. Unfortunately we see many of these animals being mistreated and mishandled. Also there should be a proper system in place to dispose off the waste from these animals so that they do not become the cause of many diseases and pollution.
