beauty

Sehar Afzal has made quite the journey from modelling to becoming an actor. About nine years ago, with a little nudge from a friend, she stepped into the world of modelling, landing her first photo shoot after a standout portfolio caught the eye of a brand. Her move into acting came in 2015 with the drama ‘Meray Dil Meray Musafir’, where she quickly proved she was more than just a pretty face. Saher’s big break came with ‘Tum Yaad Aye’, where she showcased her ability to dive into complex emotions and bring characters to life with authenticity. From “Mohabbat Khawab Safar” to ‘Tum Mile’ and ‘Amanat’, her performances reflect her dedication to her craft. Most recently, she was seen in the drama ‘Khudsar’, where her nuanced portrayal once again captured viewers’ attention. Currently, Saher is busy filming her next project set to air on Geo TV. Let’s get to know her beauty secrets…

What’s your go-to makeup look?

Oh, I’m all about keeping it simple and chic. Minimal makeup is my mantra because honestly, less really is more. Just a hint of tint, some mascara, and I’m good to go.

Do you remember when you first fell in love with makeup?

Absolutely. I was just a little girl, around 4 or 5, when I discovered the magic hidden in my mom’s lipstick drawer. That first swipe of colour had me hooked, and the rest is history.

Any safety rituals you swear by when stepping out into the sun?

Sunblock is my best friend, along with a great pair of sunshades. Protection is key - gotta keep that skin safe and glowing.

Any skincare advice for the summer season?

Summer can be harsh, so I’d say never skip sunblock, keep yourself hydrated like it’s your job, and let your inner glow shine through.

What are your top picks for perfumes and lipsticks?

Change, Si, and Oud Ispahan are my go-to fragrances. As for lipsticks, you’ll often find me reaching for shades from M.A.C, Charlotte Tilbury, Lancôme, and L’Oréal.

Finding the perfect foundation is no easy feat. What’s your preferred tone?

I always go for a foundation that’s an exact match to my skin tone. It’s all about enhancing what you’ve got, not masking it.

After a long day, how do you cleanse your face?

A little coconut oil to break down the makeup, followed by a gentle face wash, and I’m fresh-faced in no time.

Hair damage is every girl’s nightmare. How do you tackle it?

Oiling before shampooing is my secret weapon. It nourishes the hair and forms a protective barrier against those harsh shampoo chemicals. Trust me, it works wonders.

What are your go-to tips for maintaining healthy hair?

Regular oiling, using chemical-free shampoos, and a whole lot of love.

Not everyone can afford high-end makeup. What’s your advice for them?

You don’t need to break the bank to look fabulous. I’d say opt for organic brands and focus on quality over quantity. A few good products can go a long way.

What does your diet look like to keep that glow going?

I believe in balance - eating in moderation, steering clear of white sugar and processed foods, and loading up on water, fresh veggies, and fruits.

Is there a cosmetic you simply can’t live without?

Oh, definitely my lip and cheek tint. It’s my trusty sidekick for that instant pop of colour.

When it comes to makeup brands, which ones top your list?

Body Shop, Lancôme, M.A.C, NARS - they’re like my beauty BFFs.

What essentials do you always carry in your beauty bag?

My beauty bag is pretty packed, but you’ll always find sunblock, face mist, lip and cheek tint, mascara, and my favourite sunshades in there.

Is there anything that scares you when applying makeup?

Overdoing it or ending up with that cakey look.

How often do you pamper yourself with a facial at the salon?

Once a month. It’s my little treat to myself.

Who are the stylists that inspire you, both locally and internationally?

I’m more inspired by people with their own original style rather than specific names. It’s that personal touch that really catches my eye.

What’s your daily beauty regimen?

Deep cleansing, staying hydrated, splashing my face with cold water, and a healthy dose of self-love.

Where do you usually shop for your makeup goodies?

Sephora and some trusted online pages are my go-to spots for all things beauty.

What’s your take on whitening creams?

Honestly, I’m all about loving the skin you’re in. Invest in good skincare and embrace your natural glow. That’s real beauty to me.

Finally, what does the word ‘beauty’ mean to you?

For me, beauty is all about originality, uniqueness, and most importantly, self-acceptance.
