Expanding women’s networks to new locations is pivotal for fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and collaboration among women. When a network like LadiesFund extends its reach, it not only creates new opportunities for women but also strengthens the collective impact of their efforts across diverse regions.
Recently launched in Peshawar, the organisation brought together prominent women from Northern KPK. The event, hosted by Zeba Rehman (Director, Rehman Medical Institute) at the elegant Peshawar Barracks by Shelton’s Rezidor, featured the President, Tara Uzra Dawood, from Karachi. The venue, owned by Qurat Ul Ain Khan (Regional Coordinator & Director, Al-Huda International Welfare Foundation), offered a grand tea and warm hospitality.
Inaugural members included Shahida Shah (UN Women), Hadia Mehr (Principal, Brightside High School), Arzoo E Sahar (Advocate), Humera Riaz (Owner, The Jiggly Cake), Guloono Zahra Babar (Co-Founder, Soiree PR & Events), and many more distinguished women from various fields.
Qurat Ul Ain Khan praised the organisation for expanding its focus to KPK, emphasising its role in supporting women’s careers and entrepreneurial ventures. “I am deeply honoured to be an inaugural member and grateful to Ms Dawood for her inspiring leadership,” she said.
Architect Sidra Hasan expressed excitement about joining the network, noting the influx of interest from women eager to participate. “This acknowledgment celebrates women’s achievements and inspires continued efforts towards gender equality,” she remarked.
Guloono Zahra Babar found the event energising, appreciating the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals. “It was more than just an event; it was crucial for our growth and empowerment,” she stated.
Arzoo E Sahar described the gathering as empowering and essential for societal growth. “Empowering platforms like these are necessary for progress,” she noted.
Muzna Atif, part of the organising team, emphasised the roundtable’s role in celebrating Peshawar’s women and supporting their goals.
Due to high demand, a second roundtable was hosted the following day at SOS Children’s Villages Peshawar by Kokab Batool Qureshi. New members included Dr Palwasha Rauf, Zeba Masood, Fatima Ali Khan, and Dr Almas Fasih Khattak.
Dr Almas Khattak commended the commitment to women’s leadership, while Fatima Ali Khan valued the growth and networking opportunities provided.
The meeting focused on impactful philanthropic work, spotlighting women’s achievements, and fostering connections.
